Don’t neglect them, BBQ’s need some love too!

They sit in the shed or under a cover all winter, with no one taking any notice of them. They get tired, dusty, even rusty and they become sad and neglected, until all of a sudden with a bustle of activity they need to do some work. But after months of hibernation and lack of attention that can be a difficult call.

So, BBQ’s have feelings too, they don’t like being left and don’t respond well to sudden bursts of energy, with about a bit of pre-summer TLC.

A good wash and steel brushing works wonders, as does oiling any moving parts. A quick paint job, with a suitable hi-temperature paint can works wonders as well. Remember its also a very good idea to give the grill bars a good oiling and if your grill is gas, make sure there are no leaks and that the gas feeds are all clear.

With love and care and if your BBQ is a good quality one, it’ll last years and years, but remember, although a spring clean is great. A post summer service is really the best, otherwise your BBQ could end up looking like these.
